BIOGRAPHY

I am a self taught painter of plein air tradition; I endeavour to use pure transparent watercolour to record the inherent and latent beauty witnessed in our natural and manmade environments.

In my oil paintings, I strive for a direct approach on textured boards with as little layering as possible. As with the watercolours, painting outdoors in front of the subject is the central part of the creative process.  I love the natural world; we despoil and disregard it too easily.

I am a Council Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists based at The Mall Galleries, London, Member of the Pure Watercolour Society and the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales.
